Around the time of the first full moon in January, we’re bringing together experts, ideas, and programs
with the goal of consciously taking control of the best part of ourselves—our health.
Since this involves 5 days and 5 themes,
we’re drawing inspiration from TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine),
where the number 5 is a key principle:

New Health Retreats

in the Seevilla Wolfgangsee

Yoga class in the wellness center of the 4-star hotel on Lake Wolfgang, with a view of the lake and mountains

We began taking an interest in the topic of health several years ago. Through self-reflection and consciously “paying attention to our bodies,” we discovered more and more about what we can successfully influence ourselves. Following an extensive renovation of our hotel, we are now expanding our services, taking full advantage of the unique features of our hotel’s location: With our new wellness offerings, we provide our guests and employees not only with positive, lasting inspiration but also with practical experiences they can apply in their daily lives.

At the Seevilla, the hostess, Franziska, was herself prompted by a nearly 100-year-old neighbor to ask the question:“What should be the purpose of life?” And then it became clear: living a long and healthy life, with a sound mind, vitality, and mobility—that’s what we should strive for. We try to put this idea into practice not only in our personal lives but also at work. Whether you’re an employee or the boss herself: everyone should eat well and healthily, have their days off—including weekends—so that quality of life takes center stage and work can be done well and in a healthy way.

Right here, where we create delightful moments to the highest standards in the summer, we take the time in winter to “look inward” and focus on our health. This is an important balance—a time when “less is more” and when we can build up valuable energy reserves for the whole year.

As hosts, we foster connections and, during this quiet time, offer a place of connection and enthusiasm for “what matters most in life.” In this way, we can make a valuable contribution to prevention and “salutogenesis.” How does health come about, and what keeps people healthy? This is a question that holds great potential. There are truly interesting answers that we would love to share with our guests.

Because health isn't everything, but without health, everything is nothing. Arthur Schopenhauer

Healthness Offers

Nature plays a very special role in our new Healthness offerings. Nowhere else does nature offer a “playground” quite like the one we have here in the Salzkammergut.

Each of the four seasons is vividly expressed, each with its own distinctive character, and each reveals itself in its own unique way. Over the centuries, seasonal lifestyles, customs, and rituals have developed with a focus on what is healthy.

Compared to the past, the world today has become “small” and our outlook “global.” When it comes to health, we’re interested in many approaches from around the world—from TCM and Ayurveda to TEM, Kneipp, Hildegard von Bingen, and longevity… No matter the culture or the era, the question is always the same: “What is healthy, and how can we live healthily?”

We base our activities on the natural seasons, cycles, phases of the moon, and so on. For the coming winter months, at the start of 2027—following the full moon in January and February—we will be presenting two wellness programs that we have developed in collaboration with our respective partners.

It often starts with taking a look at oneself, gaining self-awareness, and deciding to do something for oneself. That’s why we’re kicking off January with “Selfness.”

Since our hotel is run by women, we’re hosting “Women’s Health Days” in February.

Here you can see our current program, including the participants, topics, and links. There’s a lot more to it than meets the eye—please feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions.

Health Days for Women

February 25–28, 2027

Shortly after the second full moon of the year, the focus is on women’s health. “Nana” (Susanne Bernegger-Flintsch), a naturopath based in Salzburg, has a unique way of making the complexities of womanhood understandable and getting right to the point. With a wealth of experience, professional expertise, and a healthy dose of humor, she guides us through the topics and the weekend—during which, of course, our dear husbands are welcome to join us or be brought along ;-)
